Chant qui parle de la mort, et plus particulièrement, des personnes qui perdent un être qui leur est cher. C’est l’expression de la souffrance et l’incompréhension face à la mort. C’est une prière et un remerciement à la personne qui a quitté ce monde.
Malgré la thématique de deuil, il n’est pas inhabituel en Afrique que ces chants soient accompagnés par des mélodies festives et un rythme soutenu.
